Special Education Self-Contained Teacher requirements:
- Design and implement small group instruction derived from student’s IEP goals.
- Teach all academic subjects (Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies)
- Implement positive behavior support plan.
- Monitor IEP goal progress through progress monitoring.
- Collaborate with related service providers (SLP, OT, PT, etc.) to ensure students are receiving services.
- Effectively use data to drive IEP data and instruction.
- Collaborate with content teams (Reading and Math Department) for support, curriculum and to ensure appropriate and effective implementation.
Requirements for all teaching positions
- Knowledge of Pennsylvania academic content standards
- Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum design and delivery, teaching and learning for individuals and groups.
- Skill in selecting and using appropriate instructional methods and materials when teaching new subjects.
- Ability to monitor and assess students’ performance to identify areas for improvements and to remediate when appropriate.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, parents, administrators and other members of the school.
- Pennsylvania Certification K-8, Special Education (Instructional I or II) bachelor’s and or master’s degree in Education preferred
EXCEPTIONALLY COMPETITIVE BONUS starting at $5000 with required certification.
Math Specialist
The Math Instructional Specialist is accountable for assisting teachers, students and more directly, the Director of Mathematics with achieving school-wide math goals at WOLCS. The position involves instructional work in support of the implementation of the various math curricula serving grades K through 8. The Math Instructional Specialist will work with the Director of Mathematics to ensure that math instruction is data driven, design and implement interventions, as well as administer assessments and collects data. He/she will also assist in evaluating and monitoring student progress.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Pennsylvania Instructional Certification required. Pennsylvania Middle Level Mathematic Certification (Instructional I) is recommended. Bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university. Minimum of two – three years’ satisfactory teaching experience in Math instruction.
School Counselor
- Advises and counsels students regarding academic, educational, and short-term social and emotional problems.
- Consults, facilitates, and maintains communication with parents, teachers, administrators, and outside agencies associated with student/family related matters.
- Provides documented feedback/recommendations/plans/strategies to aide with addressing student’s academic and/or educational needs and abilities.
- Assist with identifying students who may need targeted or intensive services, and coordinate with the appropriate behavioral health agencies/specialists.
- Communicates, coordinates, and collaborates with appropriate school related personnel.
- Supports and attends appropriate student activities and events.
- Co-chair school’s Mental Health Task Force
- Ability to work with students at the specified age level with diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to organize tasks and manage time to meet many and varied deadlines and communicate effectively with students, parents, school administrators and other staff, including the ability to discuss topics which may be sensitive.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, in all levels of responsibility.
- Ability to maintain accurate student records.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Master’s degree in counseling/Guidance, Education, or Social Work (preferred)
- PA State Certification Counselor required.
- Minimum of 1 year of school counseling experience
- All required clearances
Paraprofessional
Performs duties under direct supervision of a teacher or other professional staff. Responsibilities may be instructional in nature and include delivery of direct services to students, or parents to help enhance student learning and development. Provides additional student supervision to maintain an orderly school environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- As directed by a teacher or other professional staff, tutor and assist students individually or in small groups in order to help master assignments.
- Supervise students in the classroom, halls, cafeteria, school yard, gymnasium, and on field trips.
- Participate as assigned to monitor students during arrival and dismissal.
- Support the enforcement of school policies and rules governing student conduct.
- Record assessment data as directed by a teacher or other professional staff.
- Distributes instructional materials as directed by a teacher or other professional staff.
- Prepare bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, and demonstrations.
- Maintain professional competence through appropriate professional growth activities.
- Ability to engage with and motivate young children.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with instructional staff, administrators and parents.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- High School Diploma. Bachelor’s or Associate degree preferred. Three to five years’ satisfactory work experience.
Tutors (part time)
- Reading Tutors and Math Tutors (Part-Time – Flexible Hours)
- We are looking for part-time reading and math tutors for our students in grades K-8th. Tutors will be required to support small group instruction and intervention and administer one-on-one assessments. Grade levels and subject areas assigned will be based on knowledge and experience. Hours are flexible. Hours of instruction will be Monday through Friday, between 8:15am and 3:30pm. Applicants need to be available a minimum of 2 hours a day, twice a week.
- Applicants must have reliable transportation, current clearances, at least an associate degree, bachelor’s degree in education, a bachelor’s degree and PA certification in Elementary Education, Special Education, Reading, ESL, English, Language Arts or Grades 4-8 Mathematics, or Mathematics 7-12 preferred.
- Applicants are required to be reliable, organized, enthusiastic, and interested in working with younger students. Retired teachers and students enrolled in education programs are encouraged to apply.
- Hourly rates range up to $40 hr. – based on experience.
Lunchroom Aide – part time
STRUCTURED HOURS: Approximately – 20 hrs. per week
Lunch Program 9:45am-2:45pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday and 9:45am-12pm Wednesday.
Under the supervision of the Site Administrator, assist school staff in the safety and well-being of students during lunchtime eating and playground activities. Prepare and distribute lunches to students. Through meaningful playground and lunchroom supervision to enable students to safely enjoy group interaction and exercise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises student at play and during eating time
- Help prepare meals for students and distribute
- Maintain a harmonious atmosphere in eating area
- Helps to guide pupils in developing good habits of sportsmanship
- Encourages and promotes courtesy among children
- Observes that safety rules are obeyed and applies school site discipline policy and student conduct code.
- Assist students to resolve minor conflicts in classrooms or on the playground
- Report unauthorized activities and unauthorized persons on school grounds to appropriate authority
- Assist with the preparation and signing of accident reports if children are injured
- Preform related duties as assigned
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Must have prior experience supervising children/students. Knowledge of safety rules and habits, understand, implement, and give oral and written directions in English. Successful results from Criminal, Fingerprints and Child Abuse clearances are required.
