About Horizons at Greene Street Friends School
Horizons is an award-winning, tuition-free, academic and enrichment summer program serving low-income, public school students from our Germantown neighborhood in Philadelphia.
In small groups and individual sessions, the Math Specialist will provide intervention for students below grade level that will aid in the development of strong math skills. The Math Specialist will work closely with the teaching team and will be supported by the Executive Director.
Duties and Responsibilities
In addition to a strong commitment to the Horizons mission, this position requires a balance of knowledge of best practices and practical experience in classroom instruction. The ideal candidate for the Teaching Assistant position must be flexible, well organized, capable of taking initiative, and full of enthusiasm for both teaching and learning.
Work collaboratively alongside an outstanding teaching team and administrative staff to fulfill
the Horizons mission and create a fun, inclusive, inspiring and educational summer experience for our students.
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching mathematics in elementary school, as well as
a strong classroom management and curriculum design skills.
